LOCATION: Autobahn Race Course and Country Club, Joliet, IL
The Autobahn is in Joliet, Illinois, about 45 minutes from Chicago
and about 5 hours from St. Louis. Just off I-55 and I-80. Easy to
get to from everywhere.
The Autobahn is a beautiful, new facility with large grassy run-off areas (nothing to hit) and the track is 40 feet wide everywhere.
Pictures and Info about it here: www.autobahncountryclub.net
DESCRIPTION: This is not a race - but rather - a performance driving practice session and school. We have rented the entire North Track at the Autobahn (1.5 Mile closed road course)
We have 5 hours of track-time for you to practice and experience all you can from your Porsche® 928. Plus 2 instruction sessions that will be held at the track, and a number of experienced Porsche® 928 Race Drivers to hop in your car with you and ride-along to provide the utmost in hands-on instruction!
We are flying in Mark Anderson (from the Speed GT series and 928 International) to give a 1-hour talk on "Performance Driving the 928" after which you would be able to go back out on the track and try out some of his ideas.
Carl Fausett (from 928 Motorsports LLC) will also hold a separate drivers ed session about how to choose the right line in a corner.
In addition, we have lined up a professional car photographer to be at the event so you may buy photo packages of you with your 928 if you like.
Two driver cars welcome. Sorry, no discount. BUT: ride-alongs are permitted, and anyone 16 Years of age or older can ride along. Approved Snell-rated helmets are required. That's all. Oh, and you will have to wear your seat belts...
NO PREVIOUS PERFORMANCE DRIVING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
Food and Drink is available at the track in the Café - about 300 yards from where we will be. They have a full menu and a Chef (not your typical trackside fare)!
