Porsche Add-on Drain Plug Magnets
These are neomydium magnets sized to fit perfectly over the alnico magnet that is cast
into the Porsche oil pan drain plug. The stock drain plug magnet is so weak, it could not
even hold this itty-bitty extension shown in the photo below. They were weak to begin with,
and grow weaker with age. The idea is good: even in all-aluminum motors like the Porsche
there is plenty of steel-to-steel contact in your oil pump gears, piston rings, camshafts,
and valve train that make steel particles that get pumped thru your engine causing damage.

you change your oil and capture loose metal particles before they get pumped around your
motor. Takes seconds to install, and easily removed for cleaning in the future.
