Application: 1985-95 32-Valve Porsche® 928 Background: We have found that the combination of high-lift competition cams and high-rev race applications can be too much for the stock 928 valve springs. When a valve spring is too weak to control the valve, it can allow valve toss off the nose of the lobe and/or valve bounce off the seat - both which will rob HP from your engine. Two Models Available: We have a valve spring kit for high-lift/high rev naturally aspirated motors, and for hi-lift boosted motors. Specifications:
Easy Installation: The 928 Motorsports High Boost Competition Valve Springs are dimensioned to use the factory spring perch without modification. The High-Rev Competition Spring Set comes with its own spring perches, which allows higher lift before coil bind on these springs. They may be installed with the stock valve spring retainer, or a set of our Titanium retainers. Valve Springs and Boost: These springs will hold up to 20 psi of boost in the plenum without valve float. Boost pressure adds to the physical weight of the valve that the spring is trying to control. In our case the physical weight of the valve is 65.2 grams; and the valve head is 1.899" sq inches x 15 psi of boost = 28.49 lbs of force on that valve. This makes the total weight of each intake valve under boost 28.63 pounds! Dyno-proven Results: These springs have been repeatedly tested at up to .442" of lift at 7000 rpm and 20 psi of boost without valve float. The engine made 900 HP and 825 Lb Ft of Torque. Top Quality: Manufactured from silicone-chrome vanadium wire, and are stress-relieved, shot-peened, heat treated and polished. Each spring set includes both an inner and outer spring Sold only in sets of 32 springs.
